When Mr. Bob Womack founded Womack Machine Supply in 1944, the company engineered and manufactured systems solutions. Over time, it grew in the distribution industry, and Womack Machine Supply became well-known for the high-quality components and technical excellence it delivers to customers. While distribution became the forefront of the company, the systems creation remained a steadfast capability, manifesting its greatness through Womack Systems LLC. As an independent company and part of Womack Group, it functions in tandem with its parent company to continue engineering and manufacturing complete system solutions. In this episode of Evolution in Controls, President of Mobile and Industrial South Kevin Kampe joins host Tim Wilson to dive into who Womack Systems is, what it provides, and how it has earned its excellent reputation.

Womack Systems has facilities in Farmers Branch, TX, and Salt Lake City - two locations that house well-experienced teams of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic engineers that work with manufacturing and fabricating technicians to design, engineer, and test custom systems and assemblies for customers across the country. While hydraulic power units (HPUs) can be identified as the core offering of Womack Systems, these experts also often find themselves developing pneumatic assemblies, custom electrical enclosures, and high-pressure test systems. Multi-disciplinary integration is Womack System's specialty, as there is a need in the market that distribution-only businesses can't meet.

Womack Systems operates on the high standards of ISO9001 and AS9100, which allow the company to provide industry-leading solutions to industries like aerospace and defense. In addition to these standards, it very closely follows a gate system when designing and developing solutions, meaning each system will carefully follow a checklist through every process to ensure it meets all expectations.

For example, a system will start by defining and reviewing the scope, making sure the scope fits the customer's needs, ensuring all drawings and schematics are complete, and accurately creating the bill of materials - all before the system even reaches production. From there, even more stringent quality checks are implemented through production and final testing before the solution is released to the customer. A strict development process is a significant part of why Womack Systems has continued to engineer excellence over the 70+ years of its existence.

With its extensive history, comprehensive experience, and high standards of design, production, and testing, Womack Systems creates custom systems of the highest caliber for many disciplines in many industries. As a leader in systems creation, it remains steadfast at the forefront of technological innovation to ensure the best components are integrated into each custom solution and exceed customer expectations.
